Makers District, Al Reem Island, Abu Dhabi
About Pixel
Al Reem Island is the densest residential market in Abu Dhabi and the one with the deepest resale record. Shams Abu Dhabi, Marina Square and City of Lights sit minutes from Al Maryah Island and the Galleria.
Pixel is seven mid rise towers in Makers District, designed by the Dutch practice MVRDV with Dewan as local architect. It covers 76,000 sqm and holds 480 apartments over more than 15,000 sqm of commercial and retail space.
The ground to second floor levels carry shops, offices and co working space, with apartments above. The towers are deliberately slim and mid rise rather than tall, arranged around a fully pedestrianised central plaza designed by BIG.
The facades mix concrete with pearly ceramics, a reference to the pearl diving the island sits on. It completed in 2020. Studios start around AED 1,100,000 on resale.
